Vik Warren
Victor ‘Vik’ John Warren, a beloved brother, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday February 3rd, 2025 at age 79, in Valparaiso, Indiana, U.S.A. He was born on May 7th, 1945 on ‘May Day’, in Nottingham, England. He lived a life brimming with adventure and excitement, he lived and breathed racing, as he worked with professional car racing teams the majority of his life. He worked alongside drivers Niki Lauda, Mario and Michael Andretti. He traveled globally to Japan, South Africa, Monaco and beyond with Newman Haas Racing and managed the U.S. Jaguar Racing Team with races including the Indianapolis 500, 24 Hours of Daytona, Le Mans, and Formula One races. He spent time with celebrities in the racing industry, from George Harrison to Paul Newman and Mick Jagger. He always had epic stories, like the time they took the engine out of the Jaguar XJR race car and hooked it up to a white delivery van, and raced around the English countryside in the suped up van. Later in life he shifted into sailboat racing, and applied his wealth of knowledge from road racing. He was part of a family of sailors at the Michigan City, Indiana, and enjoyed participating in the yearly 333 mile Race to Mackinac sailboat race, as well as the sailing school, where he had the opportunity to teach the new young sailors.
He is survived by his sister, brother, 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren, and his Michigan City Sailing Family.
